In memory of Sean Tiernan |
I don't have hundreds of 'followers' and each one I have is someone I have come to know through various groups. When I learned today that a fellow photographer passed I was saddened on many levels.
Sean Tiernan lived in the UK, wrote a blog, was interested in Reiki and gave his very best all the time. Because I was not a close friend, there is much I did not know, and never will, about someone who never gave up. I will miss his creative perspective, his commitment to life and the smiles he sent across the miles. This photo is the only way I know to memorialize Sean, who was kind enough to be a follower (
to help me with Google+), and to give thanks for his life and the gifts he used well while here.
Like you I only knew Sean through his blog and from comments Paula made. Still his loss has touched both Mike and I. I will simply remember him singing "always look on the bright side of life".
ReplyDeleteNot a good day.
And that he started the ¨Not Dead Yet´ club...
Deletedear sandy,
ReplyDeletei just read about sean's passing, still have tears in my eyes. when i saw your post and the lovely photo of the lily, it made me smile. i follow your blog, and also recall many of the comments you left on sean's blog. i always felt they must have given him such comfort, encouragement, a smile, and sometimes, a good belly laugh. you should know that your wonderful ability to offer solace, intend for the needs of others, and unique way of inducing a welcomed respite from pain and fear with a good dose of humor is such a gift; i am sure that sean is smiling now, seeing your beautiful photograhpic tribute to him. we sure wll miss that very special fellow, won't we. karen sutherland
Thank you, Karen, for your kind words to me about Sean. Yes, we will miss him. I have been thinking a lot about him, his family and our bigger family that brought us together in this. If my words and my stories and my intentions bring any kind of relief, then I have done what I set out to do.
